if you want to learn about not being victim of work at home and home biz scams then you need to read everything in this article. I’ll talk about the “fees” that those companies want to charge you and the products that they want to peddle and finally a simple and easy model to avoid.

After reading this article, you should be able to sniff out about 90% of the work at home scams out there because they are easy to spot once you know what to look for.

To Pay or not to Pay

First, when it comes to work home opportunities, you need to make the difference between work at home jobs and a business opportunity. If you are looking for a work at job, then you should not have to pay a fee of any kind.

You should be the one getting paid. If you are asked to pay any money then this is not a work at home job. However, there are some legitimate business opportunity online but you have to understand that they are NOT work at home jobs, there are business opportunities.

The key word here being BUSINESS, and in that case it is expected that a fee be charged. In that case you are expected to do your due diligence like with any business venture. You just have to be able to make the distinction between a work at home job and a business opportunity.

Is there really money to be made?

Now, I have to admit true work at home jobs are extremely hard to find and requires a certain level of experience like most regular jobs. However if you are looking a business opportunity then you need to do your homework and evaluate the opportunity yourself.

Whenever, I see a business opportunity online that seem interesting, I just go and do a Google search for the product. I usually search for the product name and then add the work “scam” at the end to see if there are any complaint about the opportunity online. Most scammy opportunities will be found out at this stage.

You will also need to search if there is really a market to that particular product that you will sell. Go to the Google search and enter the most obvious keyword that a prospective client would enter to find the product. If you don’t find any ads regarding that product already from advertiser, there is a very good chance that there is no money to be made. There is not such thing as an undiscovered market on the internet anymore. If people are not already buying this product online, you have no chance on making money.

Recruit or die

The last major clue of work at home or business opportunity scams is to find out where are your money will be coming from. Most business opportunities online requires that you recruit additional applicants in order to make any decent money.

This is the MLM business model, where most of the profits are made from the fees and the products you are required to buy once you sign up. The opportunity comes from the recruiting. The major player in the MLM industry knows that and that’s why most of their effort is focused on selling the opportunity instead of the products itself.

You don’t need to bother your friends and family to make money online and fi you are required to do that, you will just be another victim of work at home scams.

The work at home industry is getting a bad rap because there are so many business opportunities disguised at work at home jobs and there are not. Some other sell you on the opportunities without any substance or real proof of a real business model. You have to take it on yourself to do your homework because if you are the one who will pay, However if you look out for those obvious clues you should be able to weed out 90% of the scams out there.
